The McHenry Elementary Education Foundation will once again be hosting their 9th annual 5K Run/Walk a thon for Literacy. The event will be held on September 12th at Riverwood School. Registration begins at 7am with the run/walk beginning at 8am. After completing the run/walk medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in many age categories will be awarded as well as a light snack, juice, and coffee. Participating is easy! The fee is $20 per adult, $10 per child or $50 for your family. Participants will receive a t-shirt as well. Proceeds from the event will be divided between the Foundation and the 8 District 15 Elementary Schools to purchase reading materials. Welcome to the McHenry Elementary Education Foundation website. The Foundation has been in existence since 1992. Our mission is to promote the value of education. The Foundation shall acquire and distribute resources to enhance McHenry School District 15 education programs and projects by providing enriched educational opportunities for learners. The Foundation will achieve its mission by directing support toward the following goals:


The Foundation supports mini-grants for teachers, we host the Celebration of the Art Night with the Chamber of Commerce, we hold a walk a thon for students in the fall, and many other causes.
